Philosophy

Why "FORT"?
If you built forts when you were young, then you remember how important it was to create your very own personal space. You remember what it felt like to build it yourself – with whatever you had at hand: wood, cardboard boxes or upturned living room chairs. And you remember how cool it was to have your own fort. Chances are, you understood these things long before you knew, or could spell, “architecture”.

Delight • Real ownership

These are powerful architectural experiences and values that people often relate to from their childhood but lose sight of as busy adults and business people. At FORT, we believe it doesn’t have to be that way. You can feel that strongly about a building if it is designed to your personal vision. You can get that excited about your built environment. You don’t have to have millions to have a special building. At FORT we strive to create personal and powerful architectural experiences in every project – without the splinters.

Architectural vision, without the splinters

More than kids stuff, successful buildings are serious business. When people who demand value and excellence set out to turn their visions into reality, they find others with the same philosophy and standards to helpmake it happen. In architecture this means finding a firm that offers excellence in design, personal service, professionalism and meticulous attention to detail.

Excellence • Professionalism • Meticulous attention to detail

We bring these diverse and complementary skills to each and every project – office, house or treehouse.

Snapshot of FORT

Today, sustainable design and good environmental stewardship are no longer luxuries, they are necessities. FORT’s vision of the buildings of the future includes buildings that are less of an ecological burden.
